TOWNSHIP CONSIDERS NEW ZONING AFFECTING JERREHIAN ESTATE DEVELOPMENT
PROPOSED CHANGES ALLOW MIX OF RESIDENCES AND DENSER DEVELOPMENT WITH MORE OPEN SPACE
WEST GOSHEN — With an eye on how the Jerrehian estate will be developed, the township has drafted and is considering a new zoning ordinance affecting housing and open space.
“This ordinance would allow the same number of housing units to be built on the parcel,” Supervisor Robert White said during a hearing Wednesday. “We do not want to take the value of the land away from the owner.”
The hearing was continued until next month.
The Jerrehian family and developer Pulte Homes have two plans filed with the township for the 463-acre estate.

EAC TO CONDUCT REEVES TREE WALK
IN SCHUYLKILL
By BRIAN McCARTHY, Special to the Local New
SCHUYLKILL — The environmental advisory council plans to conduct a tree walk of the Reeves Property Friday, April 11, to see which trees would be removed and which should be saved for the proposed 51-lot subdivision on a property.
The EAC will accompany representatives from applicants Pohlig Builders on the walk after normal business hours when members of the EAC will be available. The date was also chosen, EAC Chairwoman Marlou Gregory said, because new members of the EAC would be officially appointed by then.
Prior to the EAC’s scheduling of the tree walk, Supervisor James Morrisson presented the EAC with photos and a map he had created of trees within the site of a proposed bridge that would span the northern and southern sides of the development.

"I can say there are labor concerns that this is a provocative event. I don't see how it's provocative, but Ed Coryell does," said Sam Sherman, president of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia, which is taking part in the event.
