WELL PLAN CREATES WORRY

PERKIOMEN — The possibility of having a well that services Schwenksville residents located in Perkiomen concerns township supervisors.
A zoning hearing for a variance dealing with the proposed well was scheduled for last week. The township Board of Supervisors discussed the issue at a recent board meeting.
Township Manager Cecile Daniel said she spoke to the Schwenksville solicitor, Bob Brandt, who indicated that the Schwenksville Water Authority would be asking for an extension in the matter.
The well will be located on the Beltz property along Pennypacker Road.

NEW MASTER PLAN ALMOST READY FOR BRYN MAWR
After many dozens of meetings, new zoning for the village center set for final tweaking

ARDMORE - In Bryn Mawr, the effort to move from the vision of a new master plan to the reality of new zoning for the village core has already brought various groups together for more than 100 meetings.It's going to take at least two more to get that new zoning on the books.
In a discussion last week, Lower Merion commissioners had to consider whether an ordinance spelling out the zoning change is ready for formal review.
They decided it is - almost. The board voted to advertise a draft ordinance and schedule a public hearing for April 2 to begin review.

SOUTH MORTON DRAINAGE ISSUE RESOLVED

At Morton Council's meeting March 12, Councilman Jack Pisani reported that a long-standing drainage problem at a former rehabilitation center at 32 South Morton Ave. has been fixed.Pisani said 270 feet of drain was installed at the old Spitz building, that once was a supermarket and is soon to become a church, child care and counseling center.
"Hopefully, this will solve the problem," Pisani said.
Councilman Mario Cimino said engineer Charles Catania deserves kudos for expediting the work.

M'TOWN PLANNERS APPROVE PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR GRANITE RUN MALL EXPANSION

Middletown Planning Commission, March 11, voted unanimously to recommend council approve a preliminary land development plan for a proposed $35-$40 million expansion/enhancement project for Granite Run Mall. But the favorable recommendation carries several conditions that must be met by Simon Co., the mall's owners. These include the size and the number of parking spaces as required by zoning ordinance, as well as the requirement that a landscaped island be provided within the parking lot for every 20 parking spaces.Township engineer Art Rothe pointed out that the mall at present "is kind of devoid of landscaping." He pointed out that $190,000 worth of landscaping would be going in to enhance the site of a medical office building being developed on Riddle Memorial Hospital property across the highway.
