COMMISSION RECOMMENDS FINAL E. PIKELAND LAND PLAN
NEW KIMBERTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, IF APPROVED, WILL INCORPORATE GREEN CONSTRUCTION
By LAURIE PERINI, Special to the Local News
EAST PIKELAND — The East Pikeland Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval for the final land development plan for the Kimberton Elementary School to the board of supervisors.
Architect Danielle Hofer highlighted environmental considerations that would be accounted for while constructing the Kimberton Elementary School.

Ultimately, they found that it would be unsafe to drill into the ground where the proposed field would be because there are chlorinated solvents in the ground. The material from the drilling would need to be handled as hazardous waste, which the school district did not want to do.
