Home Builders Association hands out builder and associate of the year honors

West Chester, PA- (January 21, 2009) The Home Builders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties (HBA) honored two of its own at the annual Installation of Officers and Directors Banquet, held January 14 at the Concordville Inn.

Each year the HBA awards one Builder member and one Associate member with the Pillar Award. The Pillar Award recognizes the Builder and Associate member who exemplify outstanding work in fostering the welfare of their business, customers, communities, and the local, state and national home builders associations. This year’s honorees were Builder David D’Agostino of D’Agostino Builders, and Associate Paul Mihranian of Light by Design.

David D’Agostino, President of the HBA and D’Agostino Builder, is a second generation builder who mastered the trades while serving as an apprentice in his father's building and development company. “I truly appreciate that the associates have bestowed this honor upon me and thank them for all that they bring to our organization. I have gained a lot from my involvement in the HBA, and believe the rewards of volunteering and doing business with other members are tremendous,” stated D’Agostino. He also praised award presenter Frank McKee, the 2007 Builder of the Year recipient. “Frank is a man I admire; he is the essence of professionalism in the industry. It meant a lot to me to have him at the podium to present the award.”

Mihranian, Owner of Lighting by Design in Exton, was named Associate of the year. "Being involved in the HBA is not a rite of passage to business as some may think, however if you are good in your trade, it gives you an opportunity to share this information with your potential clients" Mihranian remarked. "This being my 19th year with the HBA, over the years, I have watched and admired the hard work of people like Bunny Welsh, Wayne Congar, Don DeLess, Mary Wentz, Brendon Boroski, Kurt Scheivert and other worthy HBA associate of the year recipients. It is humbling to be chosen and thought of to be a part of this elite group."

The Home Builders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties (HBA) is a professional trade organization comprised of more than 400 companies involved in every aspect of the new home construction process. The HBA advocates for public policy initiatives and sustainable building techniques that balance the need for strong economic growth and environmental protection. The HBA is dedicated to providing and protecting the American dream of home ownership for current and future generations.
